          CEUs: Category 1 | 3.0 (ETHICS CREDIT)

This professional training addresses the growing phenomenon of family estrangement and the ethical complexities it presents in clinical practice. As more individuals seek therapeutic support for estrangement-related distress, clinicians must navigate the ethical principles of beneficence (promoting client well-being) and nonmaleficence (avoiding harm) with care and nuance. This intermediate level training explores how to ethically support clients while considering the multifaceted impact of family dynamics, potential harms, and relational outcomes. Participants will engage in a thoughtful exploration of the increasing prevalence of family estrangement and its connection to the rise in mental health services. Through a review of relevant definitions, ethical principles, and clinical case complexities, attendees will examine how to ethically balance individual and relational needs. Emphasis will be placed on applying ethical decision-making models to real-world scenarios and on evaluating risks and benefits in both individual and systemic contexts. Case examples and interactive discussion will support clinicians in identifying and addressing potential ethical dilemmas with cultural sensitivity and professional integrity.

          Workshop Objectives:

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

          1. Develop an awareness and understanding of the increasing prevalence of family estrangement and its correlation with the rising utilization of therapy services.

Trauma-informed care (TIC) and social determinants of mental health (SDOMH) are deeply intertwined, shaping individuals' well-being, access to care, and overall life outcomes. This interactive three-hour presentation explores the intersection of TIC and SDOMH, emphasizing the importance of integrating these frameworks to provide more equitable, effective, and compassionate support within the therapeutic process.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how systemic inequities—such as racism, poverty, housing instability, and healthcare access—impact trauma and healing. Through didactic learning, discussion, and reflection, practitioners and healers will learn how to apply trauma-informed principles within diverse settings while considering the broader social structures that influence health and resilience.

                      Workshop Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

                      1. Define trauma-informed care and social determinants of mental health, recognizing their interconnected impact on mental and physical well-being.
                      2. Analyze how systemic inequities and structural oppression shape individual and community trauma responses.
                      3. Apply trauma-informed principles with an equity-centered lens to create more inclusive, responsive, and culturally attuned care.
                      4. Develop strategies to advocate for policies and practices that address both trauma and the social determinants of health in clinical, organizational, and community settings.

Decades of clinical experience and research show that involving parents and families in the mental health treatment of children and adolescents improves outcomes. Family involvement is associated with reduced symptoms, improved functioning, stronger parenting skills, enhanced relationships, and better adherence to treatment. Despite these benefits, many barriers prevent clinicians from meaningfully involving families in treatment. This active, experiential workshop will offer concrete strategies for overcoming these barriers and engaging families more effectively in therapy. Through role-plays and clinical exercises, participants will enhance their skills in building therapeutic alliances with families and incorporating them meaningfully into the treatment of children and teens.

                            Workshop Objectives:

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

                            1. Identify common barriers to parent participation and two strategies for overcoming them

                            2. Name three strategies for engaging families in child and adolescent treatment.

                            3. Name three techniques for conducting parent sessions

                            4. Name three strategies for enhancing family therapy sessions

                            5. Name three strategies for collaborating with families in individual child and adolescent treatment

This three-hour training introduces mental health professionals to psychedelic-assisted therapy through the lens of anti-oppressive and equity-centered practice. Participants will explore the historical, cultural, and systemic contexts that have shaped access to psychedelic-assisted therapies, with a focus on dismantling barriers for historically marginalized communities.

The training covers the fundamentals of Psychedelics and KAP (the only legal psychedelic currently—including history, mechanisms of action, dosing models, and clinical applications—while integrating conversations on power, privilege, and the role of clinicians in resisting systemic harm. Emphasis will be placed on culturally responsive care, decolonizing therapeutic practices, and the ethical responsibilities of practitioners when working with historically oppressed populations. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to apply KAP principles in ways that foster safety, empowerment, and liberation.

                                                and resilience.

This 3-hour workshop guides participants through the exploration and integration of their Shadow—the unconscious or disowned aspects of the self. Drawing on Jungian psychology, participants will gain insight into how hidden traits influence emotions, behaviors, relationships, and decision-making. The workshop combines theoretical understanding with practical exercises, including reflection, journaling, guided meditations, creative expression, and discussion. Through these experiences, participants learn to identify, understand, and integrate their Shadow, fostering self-awareness, emotional resilience, and authentic living.

                                                        Workshop Objectives:

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

                                                        1. Define the Shadow and understand its role in the psyche.
                                                        2. Recognize signs of Shadow activation in emotions, behaviors, and triggers.
                                                        3. Understand psychological mechanisms such as projection, repression, and defense mechanisms.
